Akhter (2015) states, “Distance education is a process of teaching in which a system of instruction is developed to teach pupils without having physical contact between instructor and learners” (p. 1). Distance education is basically teaching students from afar without being in the classroom with them for instruction. Distance education is becoming more and more popular and more people are beginning to hear about. I believe this is due to the amount of technology we now have in today’s time. Spector, Merrill, Elen, and Bishop state (2014), “The use of virtual/digital environments is increasingly prevalent as the availability of technology in K-12 schools increases through online forums, educational games, simulations, and integrated digital learning environments” (p. 93).
